Highlands Playhouse. Located in the hear of downtown Highlands, NC. the Highlands Playhouse is "the" place for entertainment. The Playhouse hires professionals, theatre students from select colleges that are the top in their class, and even some “locals” for spice. The Playhouse's reputation continues to grow. It is listed each year in the New York Times. In 1995 a major national magazine rated it among the top ten summer theatres in the country.
