How are these homes in the winter time?
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to plan out my December vacation.
The Lake Lure area can be a perfect place for a winter vacation. The weather overall in the mountains, particularly in the mid-level elevations like this, are much warmer than they were 50 years ago. The Christmas holidays are usually booked up in advance so if that's your time frame you should start looking NOW. All of the mountains have the "winter views" once the leave fall so you can see more and farther than when the foliage is full. Other than the holiday weeks there are fewer people, especially at places like Biltmore, so it's easier to get around and there is rarely waiting for restaurants, attractions, etc. The colors, of course, are muted with grays replacing the greens but Lake Lure is a beautiful place year around. You might check some of the reviews on Trip Advisor from people who have stayed in Lake Lure in December.
